Aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  in the  forthcoming Anambra governorship election, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu , Saturday said that nothing will stop the people of Anambra North Senatorial zone from producing the next governor.

Obiogbolu stated this in Awka, the state capital, during the presentation of the report of the technical committee set up by ‘OLU NA ADAGBE’ Peoples Assembly .

He said that the intervention of the OLU NA ADAGBE would enhance unity and brotherliness among the aspirants with the resultant effect of minimising tension that is normally associated with election of such magnitude.

Obiogbolu disclosed that the aspirants,  irrespective of their political parties,  have agreed that whoever that emerges the eventual winner of the election will run an inclusive administration that will take care of the interest of others and the generality of the state.

He cautioned that merit must never be sacrificed on the altar of zoning because whoever  emerges winner will be a governor of the entire state and not just Anambra North senatorial zone.

He commended the organisation, particularly the technical committee for doing a thorough job, expressing optimism that the royal fathers,  who now  have the sealed report of the technical committee before it will be handed over to the governor, will not compromise competence and other qualities in their in-puts.

Obiogbolu also urged aspirants from Anambra South and Central senatorial zones to allow the North take its turn at the Government House.

Similarly, a retired chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Paul Obidigwe, also cautioned the National Working Committee and the BOT of the Peoples Democratic Party against imposition of candidates during the primaries to enable the people choose the party’s standard bearer.
