By Tunde Sanni

The Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Kehinde Salawu,  has declared that former governor of the state, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala,  is still a leader of the party in the state, notwithstanding  the recent alliance  between him and his former principal, Senator Rashidi LadojaSalawu who spoke to THISDAY in Ibadan described the former governor as one of the leaders who have been contributing to the progress of the party.

He however maintained that the alliance of the former governor and his former principal was personal to him.

The party spokesman however denied a press statement credited to him to the effect that the party has disassociated itself from the 14-man committee set up by two former governors of the state,  Ladoja and   Alao-Akala to work out modalities for an alliance between the duo.

Salawu claimed that efforts are on by the former governor and other party leaders towards fortifying the party in the 33 Local Governments Areas of the state.

He was optimistic that the collaboration of the leaders of party aimed at strengthening the party would be beneficial to the party.
