SENATOR representing Delta Central Senatorial District,
Chief Pius Ewherido has berated Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Govenor, Mr
Lamido Sanusi over the move to introduce the N5000 note in the country,
describing him as a bundle of contradiction.
Ewherido who was chatting with newsmen in his Ewu country
home, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, said the planned
introduction of the N5000 note was an unpopular move with the Nigeria populace
saying; “I don’t know why the CBN Governor wants to unnecessarily heat up the
polity.”
Describing the move as an unnecessary affront on the
economic situation of the country, he emphasized that “even within government, it
is unpopular because people in the legislature are already disagreeing on it.
