Uduaghan Baits Team Delta with Rosy Xmas Package

Uduaghan and Team Delta
Delta State Governor, Dr  Emmanuel Uduaghan, has promised the state’s contingent to the ongoing 18th National Sports Festival  in Lagos with a rosy Christmas package should they top the medals table.

Governor Uduaghan who gave the charge during a visit to the camp of Team Delta at the University of Lagos at the weekend stressed the need for the team to go for gold at all times.

“As you compete, whether at medals level or not, put in your best as if a gold medal was at stake. You do not have to slack at any point in time,” he stated.

He charged the Team Delta contingent to be fully focused on their mission as adequate reward awaited every victorious outing.

Uduaghan commended the high spirit of the athletes which he said made possible their current top position on the medals table, and directed that athletes who lost in their events be retained in the camp as supporters for those still in the contest.

Apart from the Amina Hall camp of the Team Delta at the UNILAG, Uduaghan who was accompanied by the Chairman of the State Sports Commission, Mr Amaju Pinnick, witnessed power lifting for the physically challenged, female weight lifting, scrabble, tennis events as well as the practice session of the track and field team.

He pointed out that the hosting of the National Sport Festival should be the responsibility of the Federal Government at all times, and that the National Stadium in Abuja be the preferred hosting venue.

Uduaghan also canvassed support for the idea of throwing open the NSF as it would enhance competition and bring out the best for the country.
