The
candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Rtd Gen. Charles Airhiavbe and
his wife were successfully accredited to vote today at Garrick Memorial School,
Uzebu quarters, Benin City.
The
accreditation of voters which was billed to begin by 8am was delayed until 11am
because electoral officials awaited materials.
While
waiting for accreditation a Togolesse man simply identified as Monday Asijolu
was arrested and whisked away by immigration officials at Oba Akenzua Primary

He alleged
that he was brought in from Togo by one of the parties to engage in unlawful
voting, he also confessed that they where brought in large numbers.
The
exercise has so far been peaceful with an impressive turnout of voters in this
particular area.
